Power Steering problem

2000 328i. I had drove my car all day then parked it at work for a few hours and went to pull away and DAMN no power steering. The car drives great otherwise, no vibration, drift or any other problems. After some online research (no help from the BMW manual) I found out where the power steering reservoir was and to put ATF fluid in it. It was a little low but did not change a thing. So I figured I better take it to the shop. The first shop said cant work on BMWs. The second said $500 just for the pump and they didnt know how much on labor. The third shop is looking at it now(they can work on BMWs) but have not gave me an estimate yet. I look online at the local parts stores and they say a remanufactured pump is only 180-200 dollars. Anyone know a fair labor cost? Is that pump price right? And could it be something other than the power steering pump? Thanks for any help.
