I'm going to put this question here since it's related to Jeeps.
What's the difference between these standard and metric tire sizes? I'm guessing the standard is slightly bigger based on the price.
BFG T/A KO 31X 10.5 QR15 = $129 (TireRack price)
BFG T/A KO 235/75 QR15 = $109 (TireRack price)
These are on/off road tires (not mud) which I kind of wanted to upgrade to in the future. I'm currently running all-season Michelin Highway M/S LTX 235/75-15 tires and I like that size. How much bigger is the standard size in relation to the size I currently have? Is it noticable at all?

The difference between those two sizes is about 2" in height and 1.5" in width.
The 235/75 is about 29X9.00.
Here is some info on tire sizing:

31X10.50 are too big for a stock GC without some rubbing..

Thanks Ray H for the translation. I understand about the measurements just didn't know the comparison between the metric vs. standard. You explained it perfectly though. If I go On/Off Road Tires I'll stick with the $235/75QR-15s since they fit perfectly right now. Thanks again.

I'm really liking these tires... Bridgestone Dueler A/T Revo with UNI-T AQII 235/75SR15 (On-/Off Road All-Terrain) $125 http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires.jsp?tireMake=Bridgestone&tireModel=Dueler+A%2FT+Revo&vehicleSearch=false&partnum=375SR5ATREVOWL6&fromCompare1=yes&place=2

Bridgestone Dueler A/T 693 series look good too (694 are the REVOs). Discount Tire carries all of them.
Note: My stupid ass had my tires inflated just a tad over max psi :banghead: which seemed to cause excessive treadwear on my Michelin LTX M/S. I dropped the psi but will probably get new tires prior to summer action on the trails :)

Why did you revive a thread that's 3 months old to post something like that. You've been around long enough to know you aren't supposed to do something like that unless you have some actual valuable information to add to the thread.
