88 fullsize auto trans slipping

just installed manual hubs when I was testing them out and my transmission started slipping when I slamed the gas now when im starting off , it slips like its a manual with a bad clutch and it feels like it shifts from 1st to 3rd. im not sur what transmission I have how do I find that out. it also slips in 2nd does anyone have any ideas for me thanks.
