I got a 97 2.4L Z24. In need of a replacement motor. Would a 2.4L from a 99 fit in with no problems....it is stated that: 1999: Slight revisions are made to the 2.4L Twin Cam engine, including the head, intake and Exhaust ManifoldBolts to the head, directs exhaust air out. duh.s, and starter. EGR is removed, and the compression ratio is slightly increased from 9.5:1 to 9.7:1. .......would there be any problems putting it in? Could I buy this, drop it in with all my existing hookups and such and go? or do I gotta get a 96-98 2.4L....Please help, need an engine asap here :P

does work but harness work has to be done lower impedance resistors for one and i believe 99+ pcm needed. your safer 96-98

i'll make you right, wasn't thinking, it was mid 99 they started to use it but I don't think there were many fitted into 99 although i do believe there were some but the egr is the easiest way to tell, if it's there no problem if it's not there some more work involved
