car problem

OK in my fiance's 03 taurus when you get up to about 55 60 if you floor it it slips really bad then kick back and will start accelerating again and then cuts out again, any idea whats wrong with it? THANKS

THANKStranny is probably shot and needs a rebuild. you may luck out and a transmission filter and fluid change may help. but ultimately you may need a rebuild.

yup your clutch packs are heavily burned. rebuild is the only real way to fix it a service will probably only last a few tousand miles then it will start acting worse than before... i went threw the same thing with my 95 GL... then i rebuild the tranny and all was good agian... but i still shot it and got an escort.. (american mini muscle rules!!!)
