My Aoshima RX-7 Veilside Combat II as promised :)

This is my first finished car model. Next one is the C-West then hopefully the Greddy9 (if I ever get my hand on that).

whoa, that rx-7 is cool, I plan to get an rx-7 in the future, probably the veilside, your var is very nice.
the color of the body, did you mix it or is it out of a can? it's a nice color

hiver77

It's as nasty mix of: Tamiya white primer + Testor Aluminum Plate Metalizer + Tamiya Pearl White + Lacquer Gloss Coat :D

Nasty because it's a pain in the butt to repaint / respray any flaws

Great looking model, I guess you are kinda like me, have a thing for rotaries...

BUT.........you should have sanded more! ican see orange peel

Give him(?) some credit Its his(?) first model.
but anyway sanding is kinda dangourous to a paintjob, cut and polish would of been better.

He's referring to the 1st photo, rear bumper :)

It's not an orange-peel. I had to do a touch-up paint but since the original color was a mix of 3 different color sprays, I had to use a slightly different color for a handbrush touch-up.

It's one of those freak accidents that's really %$@%#$%#$

btw, what's with that "him(?) ... his(?)" :flipa: :flipa:

(j/k)... the use of "him" is correct :smoker2:

Thank you for all the nice comments :ylsuper :ylsuper

For the color I tried to recreate the one shown on the box photo. First I used Tamiya white primer as the base coat then I sprayed Testor Aluminum Plate Metalizer. The next day I sprayed several (2 cans   ) of Tamiya white pearl. Then everything clear cloated with lacquer.

Yes, the wheels are stock. :smoka:

I haven't glued the wing because the car still needs some work which requires the chassis to be handled a lot. Don't wanna break anything :)

C-west pics will come later

:finger: :finger:

Can't post pics if I cant even access the board (damn server busy message  ).

Anyway, here are the pics...

The C-West was (and prolly still is) a cursed model. Cursed I tell ya!!!
So many things went wrong during the making; mostly simple things that ruined perfect paintjobs, car fell down during detail painting, scratching the roof

The rear-wing is Chris' (fly on the wall) GT-wing. Looks 100 times better than the puny stock wing. Thanks Chris!!!

Might as well post these too...

great job on all those RX7's

i've got two to build for my self the tamiya rx7 r1 and the Greddy9 that you've got.

BTW: i thought you were doing a recessed headlight conversion for your Greddy9. And did the C-west rx7 come with the recessed headlights?

You meant this?

http://files.automotiveforums.com/uploads/546158current_project5.jpg

The CWest RX7 came with the CWest "light pod", not the recessed.
