questions about upgrading

Hi, I just bought a 2000 ls with 17,000 miles. I have an old mercedes that I work(ed) on so I know a lot of model specific things. I did some stuff to my benz (most everything had to be custom). Now it is time for me to start fixing up my integra. here are my questions:

1. are all the cold air intakes the same? (on ebay they have them from $40-115)
2. What is the best exhaust for this car? I DO NOT want a watermelon launcher nor an exhaust that thinks it is on a v-8. I want something that changes the sound minimally, but more importantly give better performance.
3. Any luck with the AEM underdrive pulleys? What is the approx. DIY time?
4. Are those ecu chips on ebay for $20 for real?
5. Also on ebay some guy is selling a resistor or something that supposedly adds 20 hp. I can tell this isn't legit, but is there a resistor that can be changed on the car that adds some power?
6. What other mods (car under warranty so no turbos or blowers) should be considered?
7. My friend also has a stock integra and we might consider buying a nos kit to share. What is a safe (very safe) amount to run?

Thanks for all your help

1. my preference AEM
2. Mugen is the best but they don't go for cheap. I recomend tanabe medallion.
3. AEM Tru Power Underdrive Pulley Kit.
4. what are the specs on the ECU upgrade?
5. that guy is trying to pull the wool over your eye's
6. header's, cam gears, weight reduction (lol yea strip a brand new car, i think that voids warranty anyway)...... hmm warranty is a problem/......I'll think of something else....
7. whats a safe amount to run....hmmm let me think oh i got it....none. sorry i have not met ppl in person who have had luck with Nitrous Oxide, but ive met many ppl who used it. This is still just opinion (but in my experience its not a good idea).

1. i would also go aem cai
2. mugen is the best.. but i'd go with a comptech, also a bit expensive.. but it gives good sound.. not a mower or a v8, and gives good power.. looks good too...
3. the pulleys are worth it as long as your not running a high power stereo , they suggest not over 300watts.. the diy is about an hour if your good with stuff..
4. sure you can get an ecu for 20.. a crappy one..
5. bs flag..
6. intake, headers, exhaust, pulleys, cam gears, flywheel, clutch, shifter, but depending on the warranty, any mod might break it..
7. if your gonna go nos.. get a dry fogger system.. it's the only one that won't blow the hell out of a stock system..
but please.. do not put nos in a stock system.. you'll pay for it later..

1. AEM seems to be the best. I have a AEM CAI and I have no complaints

2. If you dont want a watermelon launcher dont get a Greddy Evo. I did. It's huge and loud and annoying

3. I hear they're not worth the cash. They're a pain to install and only get 2-3 HP.
4. They work if you wanna drop your millage per gallon, lose low end power, and best of all solder a chip onto your ECU with the risk of killing a $250 ECU. I checked those out and determined it wasn't worth the risk. Get a fuel controller and build a fuel map. Have a shop build the fuel map from Dyno data too. Dont just try to mess around. It won't get you anything.
5. The resistor that charges the air. That's total b/s. That and the Tornado turbocharger.
6. Intake, Exhaust, Header (best bang for the buck there). Intake manifold and throttle body are also good. Not sure if anything there is allowed under a Honda warranty.
7. None. I know a guy with a 91 Integra that blew 2 motors with NOS. With that money he could be running 300+ HP reliable.
