TV Valve in the valve body is worn and needs replacing. This can be done with the tranny in the truck.

You should also make sure cable is not binding.

hey, I am the guy with the 1991 chevy 4x4 with the vibration.
well i took the truck back to the guy that rebuilt the trasnny, and he checked it out, worked on it,...got it back and drove much much much better,he also asked me if the torque converter had been locking up properly... i told him i didn't know for sure. well when i got it back i can definately tell that the torque converter locks up now and that the vibration is nearly gone...but still there.why would the vibration still be there?what could he have done or found and changed that made the vibration go away nearly??? what do i or he need to do to make it go away? and where do i order the new throttle control valve and sleeve kit, and is it hard to intall the new one? How do i install it? would it be easier to get a reman valve body from oreilly's or G.M.????

It is very hard to diagnose vibration issues over the internet. However, it is interesting that after he worked on making the torque converter lockup work, that most of the vibration is gone. It would be interesting to know exactly what he did.

Sounds like there could be some vibration in the torque converter itself if the vibration gets worse when it is not locked up.

If you lightly press and hold the brake pedal enough to make the brake lights come on but not enough to slow you down, does the vibration get worse?

A Sonnax throttle valve can be ordered online or at a transmission parts store.

The valve body needs to be removed to replace the Throttle Valve. Have you ever removed one before?

A replacement Valve body is only necessary if the existing one is not repairable.

Good luck,
