A6 buildup

Okay, I have sat and thought about this for awhile now. I have figured out my finacing, etc. I have even picked up this extra engine to work off. Before I go on, yes, I know I could swap in b16 for more power. Blah blah blah. I dont care. It's my money, I will do as I please. =) I am merely asking for help on some little things I dont know about.
What I am aiming for, is to get this a6 into the 12's and beyond. :D N/A.
Thats right, no boost, or nos. Just yet at least.
I have been looking into the Endyne cylinder head assembly, valves, forged rods, and roller pistons. As for the cam, I'm not sure on that yet. I am thinking a hks cam. That should just about complete the cylinder head. I will need to look into what my options are for the intake manifold. But that can come later.
For the block, I am looking into a JG short block, that has been resleeved boring, honing, resurface, and Hot tanked. Pretty much the works.
For the crank, I am still looking into what can be done on that. Any tips on this?
Anyways. What I am looking for now. Is what specs should I go for? Compression, bore size, stroke, etc. Anyone know of any real info out there that I can read over? Or does anyone have any tips they can give me.
I have found pistons that can yield me a 12.03-12.76:1, with a 74mm bore. How bad will this affect the stroke length of the piston. The last thing I want to do is ram the cylinder head. I'm sure I could talk to endyn about this. But I would rather go to them with confidence. :)
more to come...
Oh, also, check this out:

220 Bhp and 155 lbs. of torque. N/A

The A6 is her favorate motor..
It's a good choice tho. Lots of potential.

You sir, are cool. Sticking with the D series is cool as it is, but going all-motor is even cooler. Best place to help with your D series build up would be here: http://pub143.ezboard.com/bhondadseries

you know with that a6 in the pic putting out 220 hp at the wheels, if you strip your car out, get an lsd, and slicks, also upgraded axles. i think youll be in the 12s, so maybe look into that

How do they know the HP @ the wheels for an engine that isn't inside a car?

Theres a standard number than you can multiply by the horsepower to figure out the loos of power through the drivetrain. I can't think of the number off of the top of my head. If you want info on building an all motor D-series than go to HondaVision and go to the Del Sol message board and talk to Agressorsol (tim) he's the man when it comes to D-series. If you want his email, email me at [email protected]

I bet tim could tell you what combo of parts to use to beat that motor. I have all the confidence in the world in him. Heres Tim's response to someone wanting to do a mini-me swap in a D15 del sol.
"D15B's r/s ratio is better than the D16's. How do you think they dropped the displacement? The pistons are interchangeable... So that means it's a short stroke D16, with a Z6 head.
delScho's D15B in the VXi hauls fairly well, but in my honest opinion, I wouldn't do the Mini-Me swap. (and this is from the D block lover from hell) I liked the pull of the non-VTEC D15 better. The D15 on boost is about the baddest ass little whomper out there. Tachs up quick, and shifts low. Drop an Si ratio tranny in it, and it's mean package at 10 psi.
Now, what I WOULD do, is go with a D16Z6 block and head, drop in VX pistons and rods, and go to town.
ORRRR. Try this one. (the "street motor project") Take a D15B7 block. A D13 short stroke crank. A D16Z6 head w/ Zex cam. Custom ALUMINUM rods, and your choice of high compression pistons. It's a LIGHT crank, use light rods, light pistons, and a VTEC head with a high rpm profile that's oversized for the displacement. Spin the bitch to 13,000 and watch the crank fly out the bottom the first time you drop the clutch. But it'll sit on the starting line spinning 13K holding on for dear life!!
If I were you honestly, I'd just find a D16Z6 lower end to go with the head. You'll be happier. It's not worth the cost of gaskets."

i would take the crank to a machine shop and get it knife edged and balanced. that way it "cuts" thru the oil in the oil pan rather than "pushing" thru it with a blunt edge, this allows it to spin faster in shorter amounts of time, i love the idea of the a6 build up my friend has a 92 cx with a buiilt 1.5 with nos it runs mid - high 13's

I posted this on HT, and there was ZERO response. I guess they are a bunch of B series people.
Thanks for the info so far, every little bit helps.

I also decided to go with a D16A6... but I never dreamed of doing what you are doing... I do want to see how it turns out before I start slapping money down on my next A6.
My current plan is to find a strong A6 and turbo it
