Hyde's up for a new challenge ... will you help?

For those that do not know, CarDomain has another contest going on beyond the GRM Ultimate Track Car Challenge (http://www.cardomain.com/MakeModel/all/all/category%7C23) (which Hyde is still on top of - a big thanks to all of you!).

CarDomain has also teamed up with Discount Tires for a heads up battle (voting only) for a free set of tires.

This is the third round and they have selected Hyde as one of the contenders!

With all due respect do the beautiful Lexus that I am up against,
I would love the support of the AutomotiveForums community in this "Face Off."

jeff, ya got my vote. no matter how many hot girls you put infront of a car, its the car that wins, not the 'model'. she's not halle berry omg, but more like, she's cute, just cute, nothing more.

the lexus is decent imo. but, jeff has the real car, not the movie car.

Let's hear it.

Road trip. Drive Hyde from New York to California and back. With no support crew. You can pick me up along the way.

lol ... I wouldn't need any support crew to do such a trip.

A few years ago I took a several thousand mile trip in Hyde.
IIRC, it was 7 states in 6 days.

Ah, very good then. I always had this image that Hyde wasn't, like, a trailor queen, but not exactly the type of car that you would want to spend more than a few hours in at any time. Very nice then.

I've driven Hyde 2.5+ hours on the drag radials and skinnies upfront to Englishtown's Raceway park to enter a national drag event ... and even drove home after getting a flat in the drag radial at the track :lol:

Well, it doesn't take much to beat a turd.


I didn't see anything really facinating about that Lexus that would sway my vote. I'm over the whole "make it look pimp yo!"... well I was never into it, but Hyde, it's clean and properly done.

A real "tuner" car, not a show car that's made to look "tuner". I bet if one was to look closely at Hyde you'd see scratches and minor dings that shows it's a real race car. It's not made to be perfect, but that's what makes it perfect.

Long live the real deal. Hyde FTW!... and Jeff too... cause he pays the bills. :lol:

Kumho's FTW!... if you like to make colored smoke... they also make a good race tire as well.

Stig, there are plenty of battle scars on Hyde.

UPDATE

I just got off the phone with the representative from Discount Tire.
For winning the Face Off, I actually won any 4 tires that I wanted with a cap of $1000.

As tempting as it was to try to figure out the most amazing set up to order,
I decided to just be conservative and get a set of the tires they are promoting through the contest - the Kumho Ecsta ASX.

I already have 4 different sets of race tires for the car and Peter Doane (he'll be driving Hyde at the GRM UTCC event) just purchased a brand new set of Hoosiers for his use for the two events (maybe 3) he'll be racing in Hyde.

I haven't had regular street tires for Hyde in probably 2 years and I've wanted to check out these Kumhos. It will be nice to have normal street tires for that car. :)
