A question for the guys

Just had a customer come up to Reception and so I had to go out and see what they wanted. He blatantly looked me up and down (no subtlety whatsoever). It’s just so :apuke: . That’s twice today it’s happened so far. :rolleyes: I have checked and I don’t have any buttons undone or anything spilt down the front.

Anyway, my question to all you guys is is it just a reflex thing that guys can’t help doing or not?

For me, its mostly a reflex, but I at least try to hide the fact that I'm doing it, most of the time anyways.

All guys do it its just that some guys are more polite and are not obvious.

In response, Spec - some of us are more subtle than others. Looking someone up and down is pretty rude - especially in an office situation. Reminds of the ad agency boss who used to make all the reception staff in NZ wear tight t-shirts whenever he visited from Australia - obnoxious cretin that he was...

As far as looking a woman "up and down", I don't ever do it. I love the female form as much (or more) than anyone, but it is pretty rude in most situations... I think that the reason that some guys don't bother to be subtle about it is because they want you to notice their "appreciation" and take it as a compliment, or to show their interest... Either way, it's still rude in my book, and I wouldn't ever do it intentionally.

There's been a few times though, where I'm talking to a woman, and all of a sudden, I'll realize that I've been staring at her chest for a while... Most of the time, I'm so tuned out that I can't even recall wether I actually was staring for a long time, or just glancing... Embarassing.

I don't know about all the other girls but I've learned that guys check out any girl, she doesn't even have to be that attractive...it's like in their genetic code. Anyways, it's better if you just ignore it because I've ignored it so much that I don't even notice it happening anymore. I always check women out, wether they're attractive or not... (How are we supposed to know if they're attractive or not if we don't look?!)

Anyways, when I'm out with my girl somewhere, I still do it. Alot of times, I'll see a woman that I think is really sexy, and my girlfriend will be like "Ugh! Did you see that chick with the [shoes/purse/hair/face, etc]?! She was so ugly!" So, to avoid getting into a confrontation over my "wandering eye", whenever I sense that I've been busted, before she says anything, I turn to her and say something like "Ugh! Did you see that chick with the [shoes/purse/hair/face, etc]?! She was so ugly!"... So far it works pretty well. :sun:

Disclaimer: I'm not trying to really fool her, she knows I look, it's merely in the interest of avoiding a pointed confrontation about it.

What I don't seem to understand is, females nowadays wear the skimpiest, tightest things out there and then get offended when they get the undesired attention. Now I'm not saying you shouldn't be wearing stuff like that, just that you have to deal with the repercussions.

My philosophy is that if they are wearing something the grabs attention then they cannot be offended by you looking. If they didn't want the attention they wouldn't wear something so eye-catching

I am in no way saying, that I wear anything "tight or eye-catching" but just because girls dress in a provocative way doesn't mean they're asking for people to fawn over them. I personally dress like that SOMETIMES but only for me, not to attract the attention of guys or anything like that. But, on the other hand, even though we do complain ... some glances are nice as long as their not long and unwelcome.:rolleyes: I just think most girls dress sexy so that they, themselves feel sexy, not for you guys, sorry:( just my opinion
