Can anyone tell me what part this is on my daughters 92 nissan Sentra.I have been having the engine cutting out and discovered that this part has a crack down its side. When i wiggle the plug near the crack the car smoothens out and runs fine.So i need to find out the name of this part so i do not sound like a complete fool when i go to pick up the part. Here is the pic of the part.

It is the larger square black part mounted to the side of the throttle body with the letter (B) written in blue marker. This is on the passenger side of the throttle body. The auto wreckers mark their parts in this manner so im guessing it was a used part to begin with.Anyway what is this part please. Thanks in advance.I should also point out that this is a canadian car.

I looked through my B13 shop manual and couldn't find anything with throttle body injection. I'm not sure if the Canadian model is different from the US models, but I don't see why they would be.
I'm starting to think that someone may have put an older motor in that car before it was sold to you. Perhaps its from an older sentra, or maybe a pulsar. I'm not all too familiar with Nissan engines.
(This is i r teh noobz from nissanforums, just so you know.)

its ok..i found out from the dealer that it is in fact a Mass air flow sensor. The girl at the dealer called it a "hot wire".She must be a fanantic or somthin.Anyway mine has a crack in it so ive managed to find one at a wrecker..hope this solves my troubles.I think i would be wise to buy any other sensors on the car while im out at the wreckers as buying new, they dont come cheap.Up here in Saskatchewan at the dealer the MAF was/is $276.00.ouch. $35.00 used. This must be a common problem as i also had a hard time finding a used one.I even called out of province and no wrecker had one out of perhaps 10 wreckers...4 of them specializing in imports.

Just be gentle with the new one. The sensor side of it is just a thin strand of wire.
Good luck.
Good luck.

Hot wire, cute : )
Make sense though, wire runs really hot, more air flow cools the wire down changing the resistance which changes the signal going back to the engine computer.
