weekends in stockton suck

well for the past couple weeks the weather has been pretty crappy around these parts but this weekend all that changed. its been like upper 80's all weekend during the day and around 50's at night. even the streets have been absolutely empty lately and friday was just the same. nothin goin on what so ever. well last night me and my buddy went out cruizin in the s2000 to TRY and find some fun but to no avail there wasn't much out. as we about ready to call it a night we see an early nineties hatch pull out in front of us. loud as all hell but seemed like it could be fast so we gave chase and caught up to him a couple lights down the road.
this is the conversation that ensued:
me: what are u runnin?
him:stock... plain and simple
me:thats way to loud to be a stock anything
him: ya you're right, more or less, its just a b16
me:see i told you...
(by this time the light is about ready to turn so we stop the conversation and rob starts to rev up a bit and so does the hatch. knowing rob as well as i do i knew he wasn't gonna launch hard, especially since his tires are startin to get bald. in anycase the hatch takes off pretty hard from the light and rob slow plays it through first and gives it about 3/4 throttle just enough to stay with the hatch. into second rob again granny shifts and takes it easy after his shift , still neck and neck with the hatch i told rob just go man so rob mats it and starts to pull little by little, and into third(with a beautiful shift) he grabs hard and walks the hatch, we shut down at the top of third with about a car on the hatch.

we gave him the thumbs up and called it a night.

and i know it wasn't my race but i thought i'd post it any ways....

the s2k is stock... no point really in tuning it. anything faster that what it runs stock would require a damn roll bar.

and ernie i know i need to fix my damn car. in fact i just got my taxes back so all that is goin into my car and hopefully the weekend before kingdon im gonna spend all weekend tearing my car apart. like the head is comin off and gettin refurbished clutch and a few other major components. so ya. if i can swing it ill be ready. but im only gonna run once or twice if i do at all. im workin half the weekend at the track, as a "TRACK OFFICIAL" but i get in free so im not trippin.

im gonna be there allllllll weekend long. all three days but for half of each day im gonna be "working" basically my job is gonna be to sit and make sure nothing falls off the cars at half track and if anything does i have to pick it up and if there's an oil down i have to stop the next cars from racing. so ill be out there and after my shift is up i can race. but the thing is, my car is in no condition to be raced at the moment. next weekend i have to tear the freakin head off and fix a few things and while im at it im gonna tear apart the head and refurbish everything... but if rob is out there i might run the s2k once or twice, maybe more. who knows man...

Man the turn outs up here suck we have lots of cars but no where to run cops be findin us with the airplanes they have. we have nights wheres its a nice 65 out but no one is running im diein i may not be runnin right now but still its nice to see all my friends and there cars

from what i've heard NHRA rules state that its somethin like a 13.5 or somethin like that if its a convertible it is required to have a roll bar... i might me a little faster. but for kingdon at least thats the rule...

whats it like down there im stuck in washington for right now till my car is done getting rebuilt. i have a 95 ford escort. im putting in a 99 audi A4 engine and convertin it to all wheel drive and making it duel exhaust. I just need to find a engine and transmission if you know anyone sellin either of them or both let me know. im goin to try my like a the junk yard in spokane.

spokane huh? no shit my oldest brother went to whitworth. its different up there man. totally different kind of people up there. in anycase. thats a pretty crazy swap if you ask me. but ya a junk yard is the best bet i'd say. even still its gonna be tough to find a motor and trans. and even if you do, that swap especially in that car is gonna be difficult as all hell man. a crap ton of fab work involved.

well what going to happen is that im pulling all the wireing and redoin it all over new tachs and everything the exhaust is bein moved out side of the driveline groove and the pipes are brin squared till it connects to the muffler it will take some time but ill have my other car by then so i wont be stranded. My dad is helpin with the refabrications.
