me and my dad have a parts car for a 94 trans am, the parts car is a 94 v8 firebird that was FUBARed :uhoh: , so the question is i need a new exhaust on my 94 v6 3.4 camaro b/c of rust and age, what i am wondering is if the two are interchangeable or not, or if anyone has ever heard a 3.4 with strait pipes, i dont have headers but i hope to in a month or so, does the strait pipes sound ok or not, (i live in nebraska so were not green state, aka no state regulations on polution yet :icon16: )......so change exhaust or run it stait is the question?(i guess there is always spending the money on a new muffler :disappoin )

I'm no expert, but the trans am's exhaust should fit, and since the pipe diameter is 1/2 inch larger, you should pick up a few hp while your at it.

ok well while im at it, both are auto trans, so are the rear end ring and pions different ratios? i would like a little higher gear in my camaro and this can be a cheap way to do it if it will fit?

Anything over the stock 3.4's exhaust is a nice upgrade. So I'd say have at is. People do those swaps all the time. As for the gear ratio's.. you've got 3.23 rear end ratio. I couldn't say what the T/A's is without the RPO Code. Look in the glove box and there will be a sticker with a list of codes. Look for the one that starts off with a GU_. Depending on what number comes after that will tell you the ratio.
GU2 76 88 AXLE,RR 2.73 RATIO
GU4 76 88 AXLE,RR 3.08 RATIO
GU5 76 88 AXLE,RR 3.23 RATIO
GU6 76 88 AXLE,RR 3.42 RATIO
If there's no sticker.. then you'll probably have to open her up and find out by looking on the ring gear, it'll have a set of numbers for ya. Such as, it may read: 12:4126050890. Which you then divide 41(round up) by 12, which would give you 3.4166.. which would be 3.42 gears.
