97 passenger wheel vibration

Hello,
Im new to the subaru club, but i already love my car. I have a 97 2.2 legacy 5sp sedan.
However Ive noticed that every bump I hit with the front passenger wheel the whole car shudders, including the steering wheel. The wobbling goes on for about a second even if its a quick bump. I notice it more at speed. When I purchased the car that cv boot was bad....the mechanic replaced the boot but i think the joint was left. Could it be a bad joint? or is there something else with legacy's that goes wrong? Any help would be great, I'm still waiting for my local shop to get in a copy of the Haynes manual (3-5days).
PS. i did jack up the car and the wheel was secure, i also took it off and everything was tight and the bushings looked relatively new for a car that age.

have you checked the wheel bearing on that side? shook up and down and side to side?
