98 Passat random no start

Seems like this is a common problem. 90% of the time my Passat starts. The other 10%...yeah. Cranks fine and power is fine. Takes about four times to get it to puke up a start. It runs fine when it does start. Ive been reading about the intake temp sensor and thinking that might need replaced. Anyone got a simple answer?

Cruise control doesnt work. Airbag light comes on. Back left auto locks/window doesnt work and my sun roof is posessed. Does the CCM affect all these issues? And how hard is it to replace. I dont know a lot about cars but hell if I am paying a mechanic if I can do it.

Thanks

B

PS. I love this stupid car.

Comfort module is a common issue. As for the sunroof the switch is a common issue on them when the dunroof randomly likes to open/close. Cruise control modules are the most common issue for not working.

If you haven't fixed your sunroof yet, it is easy... here's some pix I put up on another website:

I have a 98 passat as well. Same crappy starts. Sometimes takes 5 seconds to get it going, other times its just fine. Have you fixed your issue? I replaced temp sensor and it didnt work. Nor did the fuel filter. I am checking the plugs next. Perhaps there is air in the fuel system. Let me know. Maybe together we can troubleshoot to save money.
