wellllllllllll i did the custom short shifter (http://www.3si.org/forum/showthread.php?t=248166) and i drilled the hole for the front-back cable at about halfway(50%), and about 1 inch from the top on the side-to-side arm......WAY TOO MUCH REDUCTION!!!!! my shifter wouldnt even get into gears correctly on top of it being really hard, so i changed the hole on the front-back arm to about 25% and its pretty good now...but the side-to-side arm is a problem now because if i try drilling another hole for less reduction it will probably just join the other hole and make one big hole....sorry if this is confusing i will post pics tomorrow but hopefully you guys can imagine this...basically i drilled a hole too close (1 inch) to the stock lever on the top of the side-side arm so now i cant make another hole for a little less reduction...any ideas?!!?!?!?!?!http://florida3s.com/forum/images/smilies/redface.gif

i've heard of installs like this before, and it takes a bit more skill to throw it in gear nicely, so ur syncros don't fck up. but they SHOULD be fairly easy. if ur holes join into one big hole, turn the hole into more of a slot. the metal on the shifter should be able to handle it [as long as the hole isn't too big]. what i'm trying to say is to shape it into more of an "adjustable" type of slot.
