hi everybody
i'm new here and very happy i found it. my problem w/ my 01 gt is a vibration when i hit about 60 mph or when i'm accelerating and turning right at the same time. i've seen some posts that mention cv joints/ axle problems, so i tried the 9 and 3 trick and there didn't seem to be any excessive play in it. i've checked the cv boots and everything looks fine.
i'm not much of a mechanic, but trying to learn more. if anybody has any suggestions they would be much appreciated.
my car has 93k miles on it and this vibration started about a month ago. i can feel the vibration in the whole car(not just steering wheel).
don't know if its related but when i'm accelerating and let off the gas quickly i hear a little "clunk" noise
thanks in advance

Welcome to AF!!
Even though you don't have any play in he joint it certainly sounds like that is where the problem lies in your case. It could just be starting to go but you have all the symptoms, vibration, knocking and vibration on acceleration. I believe that if you change the shaft the vibration will go away.

No, have the mechanic check the other and if there is no noise or play then it should be alright. If you would feel better changing both then go ahead but it is not necessary.

UPDATE.....
well, i decided to change the left cv/axle myself today and it turned out good.:sunglasse the vibration is gone. there is still a little bit of slower vibration all the time but pretty sure tires just need to be balanced.
Thanks for the help
