97 Venure A/C doesn't blow cold

After reading all the posts on this and other boards I determind that my compressor would not kick on because of low A/C coolent. So I topped the system of and the compressor kicked on.
When I'm driving I seem to be getting sort-of cold air, but at a standstill it is not cold.
Ideas for me to look at?
Edit: The highside line is cold going into the firewall, but the car is only blowing "sort of" cold air.
Thanks!

With a small amount of refrigerant vapour pressure can raise enough to kick the compressor in, but taht may not be enough to ensure full cooling capacity. If pressure was that low to start with, it was almost empty..so a near full fill-up is something like 42 ounces for front only, 56 ounces for front and rear A/C.
ON the other hand, failed actuator motor for the diverter flap..the one that diverts the air through or around the heater core..has been a cause in similar problems, either no cold or not warm enough.

OK, the diverter flap seems to be the most likely issue at this point, as the high side line is cold going into the firewall.
What fuse should I look at first? Also, where is the flap? On this van will I have to take off the dash to get to it?

OK..I understand you do not mean the air flow is lower than expected: for that issue, the filter in the glove box could be checked for clogging..
THe diverter flap motor is fed on same circuit as blower so this is not a fuse issue. YOu can check if running the temp comtrol from cold to hot gives a significant change of temperature of the air flow.
Normally you should have a glance at the flap motor (something like a pack of cigarettes) by removing the glove box cover or from under, crawing on the floor. In some cases, the problem has been with the nylon gears used by the motor to drive the flap. http://www.avigex.ca/xport/divertermotor.jpg

OK, the cold air in the back of the van works fine, but in the front it doesn't work at all. I think that it may be the diverter flap. I need to go under and look.

Will this diverter flap cause the air to be cold in the front but not in the back (rear ac)?
Mine is a 99.
Thanks
