Hi, I made the mistake of switching cars with my friend, i let him drive my 01' Eclipse and i drove his GTP for about 2 hours. By the time i was back to my car he was sitting with it on the side of a road with the cautions on, i had smoke coming from my clutch and my whole car reaked of burnt clutch. The clutch wouldnt grab a thing and was completely blown. I asked my friend what happened and he said he was driving it completely normal and it started slipping when he first started driving it and then blew by the time he was done. I had just takin it out to lunch less that 2 hours before and had it and i had no problems with it then, and ive never had and clutch problems in this car before like any slipping or anything. So im really just curious should i believe him that he wasnt abusing it because i know ive never heard of a clutch starting to slip and within 2 hours it to be completely gone. Just wondering what you guys thought about the whole thing...

Your friend beat the shit out of it. If its a stock clutch, it will smoke out real bad if it gets real hot, but, after it cools down you should be able to at least drive it to a shop. You might wanna try bleeding the clutch lines and see if that helps the slipping, otherwise it sounds like you need a whole new setup. I would punch your "friend" in the face and then blow his GTP clutch (if its a stick) or neutral drop it like 5 times on the rev limiter and see how he likes needing to replace the trans.

you ought to put some money away, so taht if something like this comes up it won't be as big of a deal.

also, punch him in the face for realz, and make him lend you his car until yours is fixed.
