ok, so i have a 1986 honda civic hatch back Si, it has recnetly become a thorn in my side, it used to be my reliable everyday driver but these days im nervouse behind the wheel of it, i need help with the imports.

the car recently started to over heat, the clutch cable won't adjust in either direction, the wiper motor burned out and it starts to idle really really bad and occasionally shut down in heavy traffic (when the temp climbs) i used to have an '86 CRX and the temp gage never reached above halfway, but with this Si hatchback halfway seems to be normal operating range. i am not sure how to ask the questions that i have but i need someone to help me out, i need the little car to drive everyday because my american cars are fun but expensive to drive. thank you to anyone that can help!!

Old thread but Id start with the basics. Keeping your car well tuned up makes the problems easier to identify. Just systematically check the items that are related to your problems.

thankyou for the advice, i was just concerned that maybe this was a warning sign of a larger prob.

i did however change the radiator and thermostat and that fixed the heating prob i had right away.

but the clutch issue i have still stands, the clutch will not adjust in either direction and i have within the last year changed the clutch-flywheel-throw out bearing, even the tranny. all needed done anyhow. if anyone has an idea of a simpler way to adjust the clutch on a cable type clutch let me know!
