Im looking for a trany that will withstand the performance ive put on my cav Z24 2.4L and maybe wondering if my stock trany will withstand the horsepower or not.I ve got a pozy dif front end, stage 4 racing clutch, injen short ram intake, aem pulley kit, mangnaflow exaust, and a short throw shiter, and some others but wont get into that right know.
If anyone is wondering i do drive it dayly but i only race at the track. Serious replies please.

You dont need a beefed up tranny unless you plan on pushing 350+ hp. Most you need to clean some things out is the tranny mount.

I can answer both of those in one shot. I know enough that you and I both dont need a beefed up tranny.

Mike, do you have an OCD that causes you to send things twice everytime?

Agreed...
Boost your car properly, run some slicks and we'll talk about beefing up your tranny with an LSD, Fly wheel, clutches, and higher rated Shafts depending whether your auto or manual. Your stock tranny & shafts should hold up to 250-275hp. Biggest killer of shafts is wheel hop, so stay away from burn outs untill you get some poly control arm bushings, motors mounts, etc.

hey thanx for the replies, and i sent a message twice yes by accident.
when i shift it grinds a bit in third and forth and if im going fast it does it a litle worse. what im pretty much doing is restoring everything to brand new, wheither it broke or making noise or just rusted.not going back to stock of course,so im not really restoring it in a sense.
Ive got a brand new engine, short ram air intake, magnaflow exaust and a pulley kit,for now. but im planing on putting about 20 Gs into it i love my cav. talk soon.
