Are these useful to be upgraded?

Do they actually give you more horsepower and better fuel milage?

Cody swears by them. Those and AcDelco's.

Your not answering my question there, does it actually gain horsepower and have better fuel efficiency?

They're only spark plugs, you're not gonna notice much of anything. Acdelcos will do you fine, NGK's are more for cars who have alot of performance mods.

Nooo... Denso Iridiums. ;)

Anytime you install new plugs your going to think they are godly because they are restoring efficiency to your engine. Stick with your delco's. Guys run the NGK tr6 plugs for 1 step colder ( tr7 {2 steps}) in order to dissipate heat out of the combustion chamber for nitrous.

well, my next project after i get my car back is turbo it, so i guess buying the NGK iridium is alright... what is the NGK iridium? tr6 or tr7?

tr6 will be fine. Thats one step colder and you HAVE to run 93 or better octane

So the NGK Iridium are tr6's? And in Hawaii they only sell 92 octane gas...

Cody, someone told me for the Ngk iridiums you only have to use the more expensive gas if you're boosted. I've had them in my car for a couple months now and I've used 87 the whole time. Can I get some info on this? Also, do you have to gap them at all for a 2.4l? Or are they pre gapped?

Pretty sure they are pre-gapped and yes you only have to run the higher octane if your boosting or running some ridiculously high compression ratio. We have em on sale at work right now, i might pick up a set and see if there is any difference in feeling. If i get bored one day i'll throw the delco's in, then the Denso's, and then the NGK's. I have like 3 sets of AC delco's with probably 5-10 miles on them. Lol...

the plugs aren't going to help you out at all unless your stock plugs aren't firing well enough to burn all the gas...

If you're boosted, you're going to need a closer-gapped plug and a step colder. Personally i use NGK BKR7ES plugs at a .28 gap....

so there is no point on buying these NGK Iridum Spark Plugs if you bought a new car? Cuz my 2005 Sunfire is BRAND new, have about 3800 miles on it now...

Im thinking about turbocharge it during my senior year, but i think im gonna beef up my engine first so i can slap in a FAT turbo and make a 16+ psi boost, to get me around 350+ HP

If your going to boost it, looking at spark plugs it probably the cheapest part of turboing your car next to the gaskets required. So, keep rocking the ac delcos

Well before you boost it, change the plugs...until then, read about turbo setups because you dont seem to have a clue
