Throttle shuts off

A few weeks ago I took my 02 max w/vq35 to the local race just to see what it would do and the throttole would quit working and drop to an idle I would have to shut the car off and let it sit for a few minutes and then it would work.

Any ideas it threw a code but i cant rember what it is right now, can you pull codes if the ses light isnt on?
