Want to replace my tape deck in my 2001 GA with a factory CD player. Do they take the same harness. Does the UP3 have a different harness that the U1P decks.

because pontiac sets up there cars to be fitted with different options, they keep the wiring the same. So the same harness will fit both radios

I am going to take out the stock radio and put in a sony. I have already purchused the install kit and would like to know if the front plate just pops off the dash, I do not want to force it and break it

Also how tough is it going to be to do it. I have done this on all my other vehicles, so I kinda have a clue as to how to do it.

in order to take the center dash pannel apart you must remove both passenger and driver side lower dash panels to expose the screws once you have done this you will remove one screw from both sides and the rest of the dash if friction fitted. any more questions just ask
