Hey guys, When using a brush honer on cylinder walls, is lubricant required or no? Thanks!

If I am using a 3-stone hone, I do not lubricate the cylinder walls. If I am using the bottle brush type, I use light oil.

I only use a 3-stone hone and prefer to use diesel fuel as a lubricant. I've been using it since around 1970 and have never had a problem with it.
