8,000+ hp

This is my question, i was wondering how was it possible for a top fuel dragster with a v8 to reach 8,000hp , also if they used turbos and would it be possible to do this to an rb26dett.

they dont use gasoline(they use alcohol)they dont use turbos either, and you could do it to a skyline motor with about $400,000 in mods and about $10,000 each 1/4 mile. if you want 8000 hp and 1/4 mile in 5 seconds you need to just go buy a dunny car/drag car for half a million bucks:bandit:

has any body ever done this with a skyline engine

I think 3000bhp is pushing it with teh RB26DETT. 1300bhp is about the highest I heard of a street car that's realiabe and a little over 2000bhp I think for the drag cars but I don't think an RB26DETT can do 8000bhp. Anyone care to prove me wrong? :D <<waits in anticipation>>

It is not possible for a 2.6L to do that, especially not a turbo'd motor.

The top fuel cars are 500 cubic inch, blown, nitro methane burning, turning some ungawdful rpm - like 11,500+ or something like that (not sure tho)

They are rebuilt between every round, and are made to run for 4-5 seconds under full power.

It is just not possible in the real world with an RB26DETT engine.

Of course it would be a fun 5 second run till the Pffffffffffffffffffff KABOOM!!!!!!:eek2:

Top fulers produce aroud 8000 HP. And the engines are around 700 cubic inches and run on pure nitromethane. Tuff stuff that is. Maked your eyes water but smells awsome. Sometimes I'll just wake up in the middle of the night and smell nitromethane. I have a couple gallons of it in my garage. Expensive as hell. Around 30 bucks a gallon....and you thought gas was expensive.

I have one thing to say bout that tomy thing.......YOU ARE FULL OF SHIT. A TOP FULER CAN"T EVEN TO A QUATER THAT FAST. PLUS THERE'S ON TIRE ON EARTH THAT CAN HANDLE THAT KINDA POWER WITHOUT LOOSING TRACTION.

I don't think that's possible for a street car. I believe that top fule drag racers fun about 4 seconds in the quater. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

Yeah cause their's that 5 seconds 300 MHP thing and most drag racers finish the race at this speed.

It would be impossable for a street car to do a 4 or 5 in the 1/4 mile for one reason, the tires. You would have to have drag slicks to get all that power to the ground and you can't drive with slicks on the street. At least not in any state in the US I know of. I'm sure that there are some light cars out there with ungodly amounts of horse power that MIGHT, I repeate MIGHT be able to do one that fast IF they could get the torque to the ground without wheelspin. Just imagine being able to do that!!!:rolleyes: *Brings the tach up to about 7k, dumps the clutch, floors it, rows through the gears, then wonders if he could shift 6 times in 5 seconds but wait, that doesn't leave much time to wind out the gears... that thing must have ungodly acceleration* well there is only one solution. I have no clue. If they do their aren't close ratio and they may even be automatic. The thought is just funny.

You ever know,8000 HP is a shit load.

Drag cars have 4 to 5 gears, depending on gear ratio. Also, they are manuals, but they usa a sequential sport shifter. you just squeeze the handle and pull it straight back like on an automatic on the floor. There is no nutral, you just have a front break and a transmision break and a clutch. I beleave the clutch is a power clutch (donno how that works) so you can just pop through the gears.

how could you shift with a clutch 5 times in less than 4 seconds? cause it takes atleast 0.5 seconds to react to the green light

No, you can respond in less time. And that clutch must be pretty heavy duty.

correct whitebread. Avg reaction time (They tell it for each driver after each run) is like .255 or somthing like that. And the clutch is less of a pedel but more of a button, there is engaged and disengaged, no slip.

They must replace that clutch every race.

As for the GTR. 1400HP is best I have seen. There are alot of 8s GTR's but 5.. never, maybe the shell of a GTR with a big V8..

I would love to see someone put a billion into one and make it out of some strong metal and get 8000 HP.. but i don't see it happening..

rb26's that have been stroked are lucky to get to 1400hp the highest is around 1600 and the r32 is the worlds quickest street registerd car running 9.2 with no nos and full street trim and does 0-300 ks in 13.7 seconds

ok not to sound redundant but there is no way to get 8000 hp out of the rb26. to give you an idea of the hp in a top fuel dragster this is true. one piston in a top fuel dragster engine produces enough power as a NASCAR engine. those engines cost ungodly amounts of money to build and maintain. have you ever seen one of those big checks they hand out for like 10000+ dollars and think wow they are rich. well all that money goes into buying the gas needed to power the beat and to rebuild it. i saw one time a top fuel dragster do 4 seconds at 300 mph on tv and guess what happend. his top wing of the tripple stack wing blew off and even with the parachute and brakes he still could not stop in time and landed in the grass. ask any ase certified mechanic that question and they will seriously laugh in your face.

ohh and tommy it is impossible to do 1 sec in a quarter mile. nice try though :lol2: the engine to go 1second would have to be twice that of a top fuel dragster and that right now is pretty much impossible. and the civic would have so much power that it the front would fly up and flip over. i seriously hope that the person who started this trend was meaning 800 not 8000 because if he ment it you seriously need to please stay off the road. hell you should not even have a licence. you come one here and ask a question like that and you expect people like us to be nice. good god i thought i was dumb with cars. 8000 hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha
