Cobra R vs. 2003 Cobra SVT

When I read the background on Ford's Cobra R, I read that the R car was the fastest Mustang ever; however, when I read about the 2003 Cobra SVT, they state that this is the most horse power out of a mustang ever. Is there a sight that compares the 1/4 mile times of the SVT and the R cars? The R car was built with a 351c if I remember correctly. And looking on ebay for an R car produced some pretty high numbers. One car was going for as high as $48,000! The freak keeps it in a plastic bubble and only drove it once. From the dealership to home!

I don't know how you guys feel, but if I buy the Cobra SVT, I am driving it!

I know a guy that has a 93 Cobra, and a Cobra R. He was offered $45K cash for the Cobra R, and didn't take it. That's insane!!!

Ask your friend about his Cobra R. See if it is faster, or has more HP than the 390 that the 2003 SVT has.

He's back in St. Louis, but I'll see what I can do. He keeps the Cobra R in storage most of the time, same with the 93 Cobra (but I have seen him driving that). I would love to see the Cobra R if I had the chance...

The 2000 cobra R has 385 hp compared to the 2003 cobra with 390 hp. The 2000 cobra R has a 5.4 liter which is not a 351, the 95 cobra R has the 351 with around 285 hp. The 2003 cobra and 2000 cobra R are about equal in 1/4 mile times but the R would win in a road course.

Thank you. The 2003 Cobra really seems like a sweet car. I went to the dealer today to look at one (I had to drive 30 miles!) and they wouldn't let me test drive it! What kind of crap is that. They know they got you by the balls because Ford is only selling a few of these cars. The MSRP as you all know is $38,000. The dealer mark up is $10,000! F*#kers! I think I will wait and take a look at the new 2004 Cobra's and see what they look like. By then I can probably buy a used 2003 Cobra for much much cheaper. I have seen them on ebay for around $32K-$38K. Screw the dealers, the rat bastards. lol

Either way I really really want a Cobra.

Wow, there pretty rare, I heard you guys talking about them.. heres the Cobra R's production Numbers...

1993 Cobra R: 107 Made
1995 Cobra R: 250 Made
2000 Cobra R: 300 Made

So overall, theres only 657 Cobra R's.... wow, I can add!

Rare yes, most of them are probably sitting in garages or on dispaly in some ones collection.
