I own a two door, automatic 95 cavalier 2.2 and I have been having alot of problems with stalling out when IDLING and when I take it out of PARK.
I have replaced the altenator, starter, plugs, both coils and plate, TPS sensor, map sensor, ICU motor, celenoid, ignition switch, fuel relay sensor, this has to be the most fustrating car I have ever owned in my life!!!!
Anybody have any ideas i'm all out of ideas now..
Thanks Jen

Welcome to AF Jen
Did you happen to Change the fuel filter and air filter ? You may want to get the fuel pressure checked and if possible get it scanned for any codes. How many miles on engine ? you may want to try and clean up the throttle body as well.

yep also changed fuel filter as well as air filter, the engine has 258,000 but it has been re built and really it may have 60, 000 since it was rebuilt, right now i'm looking at the TCC Solenoid , I'm thinking about selling it and just buying a new one since this thing is very fustrating...lol, thank you for your input tho I appreciate it

well since I bought this manual from Haynes I have basically gone through the book page by page trying to figure out the problem, damn thing has more money in parts then it's worth...LOL I think the oxygen sensor is one of the last 2 things I havent done yet but my god I am tired of spending money on this car...lol

It`s to bad we don`t live south of the border where scans are free ..............LOL. I would bite the bullet and go back to dealer and just pay the price for a scan. Ya I know it`s 80 bucks or better but how much more do you want to spend on parts that are not doing it for you. Just tell them scan only and decide from there . you are going to have so much cash tied up in it you`ll have to drive it 5 more years to get it back .....LOL

very true, the last time I took it and had it scanned it said there was nothing wrong with it, I think maybe the car is possesed and is just enjoying all the new parts, I think after it's fixed i'm going to sell it and cut my loss and never ever again buy a cavalier...LOL thank you so much for all your advice tho I really do appreciate it, yesterday I changed the oil sensor cause when I was changing the coils i noticed it leaking oil, if it's not one thing it's another...lol I thought for sure that would fix it but of course it didn't and right now driving a really old Jimmy that's a gas hog is not helping the finacial situation either...LOL
