Can a transfer case chain cause a driveline vibration?

1990 K1500 4x4 Truck 5.7 700R4 126K Miles

Original Miles on drivetrain. I have recently developed a driveline vibration 55 - 65 happens in 2WD (have not tried 4WD). Problem is worse under a load like climbing a slight incline.

I replaced the tranny mount since it had some play. Recently did u-joints on the rear shaft.

On jack stands, I dont feel the vibration except as the drivetrain slows down. I think the transfer case chain is streached since I can hear it rotating the rear driveshaft by hand. Could this cause a driveline vibration?

I plan to pull the transfer case in a couple of weeks to inspect the noise and chain.

Anyone experience a driveline vibration that ended up being the transfer case?

I have an '05 doing the same thing but seems I am the only one to be able to feel it. Will bring it to the dealer for the 3rd time. 34k+ miles.

I don't think its the chain as it not turing in 2wd. Pull the drive shaft and get it balanced.

Was the vibration before or after replacing u-joints

I had slack in a truck I used to own. Would clunk under strain in 4wd, 2wd drove like normal. That might not describe it too well the chain would grab and let go pruducing bucking and you could hear it rattling in the case.

I replaced the chain and all the seals in the transfer case. The driveline vibration is still there so I doubt it has anything to do with the vibration.

In my case, the vibration was there before I did the u-joints.

I also replaced some parts on the tranny when I rebuilt the transfer case and I am having some issues with the tranny right now. Once I get those resolved and find the cause of the vibration, I will post what it was.
