Cleaned a bit more - different angle:

Partly painted - Not done... gonna be some black on there... Raiders fans should like this one. (After A LOT more cleaning - PS Dad's worked great whoever recommended it, but it IS Naval Jelly, lol, burnt the piss outta my arms. Listen to Morley, he knows his stuff.)

Heads back from speed shop...

1973 Water pump... NOT going back on...
http://img259.imageshack.us/img259/8227/dsc03488mu2.jpg (http://imageshack.us)
Old oil pan NOT going back on, need to get replacement.... somebody hacked the inside all to hell. Ordering Edelbrock Performer Air Gap RPM intake next week, along with oil pan, new bolts, MSD superconducter 8.5mm wires, etc.
Going to replace Holley 750 CFM vacuum secondary carb with either Holley Street Avenger 770 or Edelbrock 800 CFM Thunder Series at a later date, after I get it all sewed up and back on the road. Right now I need to get some damned gauges.... Autometer Sport Comp's are going into the original bezel... will do the beaded aluminum later, have a few other projects that need to get done first. :banghead: :disappoin

**sniff sniff** Why do you keep avoiding me?
Yes :eek7:, used engine enamel, 500* paint AND primer. :iceslolan
Lol, pretty sure I got all the friggin oil off. Find out pretty soon if not. Used acetone and mineral spirits and a blast of air. It kept starting to flash rust, which I figured menas there's nothing on it. :dunno: So I hit it one last time, dried it off, primed it, painted it and now before I finish it with the black, I have to wait 7 damned days. :disappoin
Quick question... will this oil pan work, or should I go and get a name brand expensive one (I'd rather not)?

It says street / strip, but looks like a drag race pan to me... can I use a drag race pan? The stock pan (that's on there now) is all hacked up inside, so I'm guessing a stock replacement pan will require some mods to fit.

I have one exactly that same style for a SBC of mine, The ground clearnce should be fine since its kicked out both sides(and not down), mine sits 1/2 inch lower then a stock one.
That pan should do fine. make sure you get the right depth pickup for it and dipstick.

It's all good! That shit was worth the pain with all the time it saved.
Now all I need is another $350 to get all the little crap (wires, hoses, bolts, fluids, etc) I need and I can get it back together.
