Engine mounts

Sirs,
A few days ago I replace one of the engine mounts (front drivers side) on my 1989 Bonneville (3.8, C engine). Using the advise found in a Haynes manual, that is to say, Placing a block of wood under the oil pan and the jacking the engine up just enough to support it while I took the old mount out and replaced it with the new mount. The problem is this; I'm hearing a rattling in the engine that wasn't there before the replacement. I checked the oil pan and there doesn't seem to be any damage (crushing from the lift).
Should anyone have any thoughts as to what might have happened during the replacement of the mounts please let me know.
Thanks,
-A
