95 cougar 4.6 bogs down

I have a 1995 Cougar 4.6 that is difficult to start and bogs down when the accelerator is pushed past 1/4 throttle. The motor will rev if the pedal is moved very slowly, but bogs if pushed normally. There were three codes:
1) Cyl 6 misfire, 2) bank 2 lean and 3) egr temp low. Pulled the #6 plug and it looked ok. The plugs are less than a year old and are bosch platinums. The car is stock and has 70,000. Any ideas?

Anyone know how to test the TPS sensor, etc. I have a Haynes manual, but it doesn't cover these areas well enough.

We had a similar problem a while back with cyl 5 misfire, and traced it to a bad plug wire, but that plug looked terrible. The #6 wire tested ok this time.

The cars owners (parents) tell me that the #5 fix kept the engine light off, but the car suffered from poor acceleration pretty much since then. (They hardly drive anywhere, so didn't tell me this)

You probably should check your O2 sensors. That happened to me for a long time, my acceleration was terrouble and it bogged down when i tried to accelerate. It later became a hugh problem because your car starts using more gas then it needs because the sensor is telling it to produce more gas. I just had mine fixed runs so much better actually has good acceleration and pretty good gas milage now.

Yah thats a performance issue with the intake system.
Work with the cheapest first.
Do like the $200 tune up, plugs, wires, cap, rotor, o2 sensors, pcv valve, air-filter. See if that helps it out a bit. Youd be supprised to find out how junky the bosch plugs can be. Sometimes more expensive doesnt mean better.

Check the plugs and wires. bosch plugs suck.
