Squeaking/Chriping After Wash

I recently washed my girlfriends car and decided to wash under the hood. It has been 2 days now and there is a chirping noise coming from the belts or possibly the altenator. I have done this a number of time and never had anything chrip like this 2 days after. I tried my best to stay away from the electrical stuff....
Is there any way or anything I could try to stop the chirping?

You may have to replace the belt to get the noise to go away. If the belt is worn it will chirp with a little bit of moisture. The second issue could be the tensioner on the belt itself. The bearing in the pulley may have been washed dry by your cleaning. Unfortunately, you can't lube it so you will need to replace the pulley.
