Electircal issues HELP!!

I keep on blowing my ignition A fuse under the hood. I have a 2001 silverado with a 5.3. What all runs into the ignition A fuse? Could it be my starter shorting or what?:banghead:

When does the fuse blow, immediately upon installing a new one? or when you turn the key on? or when you turn the key to start? There are alot of fuses that are powered by that fuse. Here they are: instrument fuse panel: IGN 1 (10amp), TURN (20amp), SEO IGN (15amp), AIR BAG (15amp); underhood fuse panel: O2A (15amp), O2B (15amp), B/U LP (25amp), ENG 1 (10amp), IGN 1 relay, IGN E (10amp), and the starter relay. If the fuse blows upon installing a new one, remove the starter relay. See if the fuse will now blow again, the starter relay is always powered by the IGN A fuse no matter the key position. If the fuse only blows when the key is turned to on or start. Remove the listed fuses above and reinstall one at a time with the ignition turned on (when the fuse would blow) and see which fuse causes the IGN A fuse to blow when you install them. Post back what happens and I can look further down the schematic, but thats as far as I can go for now. I hope this isn't confusing and is helpful

OK i put all the fuses in one by one and it only happens when i put the starter relay back in. The fuse pops when I turn the key to start. I beleive it is a short in the purple wire that runs from pin 87 off of the relay to the starter. Could that be it? I hate this crap. I put in a new relay and the truck started but only once then the same problem.:screwy: stupid ass truck.

Well, as long as all the fuses are in and the starter relay is out and you still aren't blowing the fuse, I'd say the only thing left is to disconnect the purple wire at the starter. Try again and see if the fuse blows. If it doesn't I'd say the starter solenoid is bad, but you will probable have to replace the whole starter. You haven't done any work around the starter area lately? Just thinking something metal might be touching the top of the starter. If the fuse blows with the starter disconnected you need to either look down the harness for a problem, or run a new wire. This is not hard if you have to do it, but post back what you find out.
