92 tracer electrical problem please help!

I have a 92 mercury tracer. The ignition switch broke and I replaced
it. The car starts fine now, but; the rpm guage, gas gauge, temp gauage,
turn signals, gear shift release, don't work. The alternator won't
charge the battery either even though the alternator, battery cables, and
battery have been tested and are in good condition. All fuses are good.
What would cause the alternator not to charge the battery, gear shift
release switch and the rpm guage, gas gauge, temp gauage not to work after replacing a broken ignition switch? The idiot lights do not come on either, but the speedometer works. Thanks for your assistance.:screwy:
