Speed Limeter

He everybody. I have a ? A friend had told me that you can remove the Speed Limeter on my truck with out getting a chip. Is this true? And if so how do you do it? I have a 2001 silverado. Any help or advice would be great.

You would have to reprogram the PCM, I believe - but remember those limits are imposed due to the speed rating of the tires the vehicle is delivered with. If you raise the limit, make sure the tires can handle it.
