Which car is the fastest for drag racing(mods included under 5k, please list mods)?
1. Mitsubishi Eclispe GSX
2. Acura Integra Type-R
3. Civic Si
4. Dodge Neon R/T
5. Toyota Celica GTS

It depends which model Ecplise he is refering to. Generation 2 GS-T or GSX models are very tuneable. Easily capable of becoming a 13 second car.

Yeah buddy, the Eclipse is FACTORY turbocharged you know, designed to handle boost, to where the R has that 11.0:1 compression ratio, thats called ALL MOTOR, not a good idea to turbo those.

ANYONE who knows a thing about imports would know he was talking about a GSX. WHY would you pit a low model, non-turbo, no AWD stripped Eclipse against the Holy Grail of Hondas? You knew what he was talking about and so did everybody else.

the eclipse is the obvious answer. anyone who thinks different is dumb. the type r is weak, a n/a fwd car cant compete with awd turbo power.
if you can find a real type r thats hitting 8s and 9s like the talons and eclipses id be happy to withdraw my statement. since this wont happen my only advice is to use common sense, a honda is still a honda even after 5k. you have to realize there are fast cars that dont wear an H badge.

People turbochage N/A cars all the time. It doesn't reqire a rebuild to lower the compression. And anyone that uses a spacer between the head and block in an idiot. You can lower the compression by using shorter rods or raplacing the pistions, it isn't that hard.

Whatever, you know that there is the ES which is N/A and FWD, there is the GS-T which is turbocharged and FWD, then there is the GSX which is turbocharged and AWD. Give me a break, the GSX isn't the only Elclipse you can buy that is fast.

Replacing the pistons OR changing the rods is not a rebuild. A rebuild is more like replacing the head, the head gasket, valves, rockers, lifters, crank, pistons, rods, I mean the list goes on.

Maybe not a TOTAL rebuild, but ripping the motor apart and putting in new internals, it might as well be.

Why don't you go pick up a copy of Modified Mag and see really fast imports; you'll notice theres no H's in there.:smoker2:

the GSX in the 1/4 is the quickest on that list. the short 60fts that car is capable gives it some great E/Ts.

whats the talk about head plates and shorter rods? wtf? u do realize that it takes minimal head gasket differences to make a half point change in compression ratio. if the compression was to be reduced, dished pistons and a differnt head would do the trick..
