Rebuilt?

Ok so I'm looking to buy a used car, 2001 Jetta, and it is a rebuild,,, ( not a new engine) but somehting to do with a previous accident, and the car required repairs.

This happened while the car was under ownership in the states, now the car is in Canada, and under the current owner's insurance it says: 2001 Jetta - Rebuilt


Does anyone haven any more info as to what rebuilt means? should I stay away from this car?
