cigarette lighter shorted out

I pluged in my cell cord to charge my cell phone, when I heard a pop and started to smell something,I immediately unhooked my pick up battery. I droped my cigarette lighter ashtray combo and noticed that the black and red wire were melted. I traced the wires to just over the steering column, this is as far as I could go, I cannot go to the dealer as he will take advantage of me. I now do not has any courtesy light, radio, and no park lights. Can anyone help me? Can anyone tell me where to get a wire diagram for just the cigarette lighter? I have a 1993 silverado ext. cab. All the items that currently don't work are on the same fuse in your fuse panel. Replace the burnt fuse with a good one. If it doesn't burn out right instantly, you'll probably be ok as long as you don't use your cigarette lighter. If it does burn out instantly, you have to find the short, or cut and cap the wire as it comes off of the fuse box.

Mine did that cause it had a penny down in it. The socket is probably bad, that or the cell phone power cord.
