HELP!! 1979 F-150. Emmision Question.

Hi,
My dad asked me to ask a question on here for him.
He's is currently working on this 79 F-150 pickup. He said it has no emmision junk on it, except for the big black tomato juice can under the hood.
He wants to know, where do the two hoses from the can hook up to? He said he knows the one has to hook on the intake, but he has no clue on where the other one is supposed to go.
Incase it matters, The engine is a 351 W.
Can anyone help?
