1. when i accelerate i have a high pitch sound coming from the engine, i've taken it to different shops & no one seems to have a clue, even the dealership. anyone have clues as to why this is happening.
2. i just had a major brake job done, but the brake pedal is still very low. i have to push the pedal very far in to brake, i've tried pumping to build pressure, nothing. any suggestions.

On #1, hard to say. Is it more of a screech like a belt, or a whine like a power steering pump, or a whistle? Did this just start or has it always been there? You might start the car, leave it in Park, and then open the hood. Have someone accelerate the engine while you try to listen where the noise is coming from. If the noise is not present, that might indicate that the transmission is the source.
On #2, did they bleed the brakes properly after the brakes were replaced? Some cars just have low brake pedals, but if you've compared to other vans and yours is different, I'd suspect that the mechanic did not properly bleed the brakes.
Hope this helps.....Glen

Hi there, I have the same high pitched sound and thought it was from my transmission so I changed the oil and much to my dismay it didn't cure the problem, I even disconnected the stereo as it sounded like it was coming thru the speakers and still not the answer. If you ever find out let me know....:banghead:
