need help with digital odometer adjust mileage

hi eveyone, i am new to this. do anyone know how to readjust the mileage on a digital odometer? cause i have a 99 corolla that i messed up the odometer and want to buy one on ebay for cheap price but need to adjust the mileage back to what it had before. if anyone know how to mess with it please help

the short answer is "no". There is no way to electronically change the mileage.

To do it legally, you'll have to declare it TMU (true mileage unknown) and then have someone alter it. Most electronic odometers always retain the true mileage as well as evidence of change, so if you don't declare that and you're found out later, its a big deal.
You're probably better off just putting the new ODO in with the wrong mileage, then being truthful if you ever sell it.

You can find out what signal they take as a speed input. Then run that into it at the highest allowable frequency.
Of course that'll only work to rack up miles, I don't know if digital odometers run around and back to zero.

They turn back to zero at 1 million miles, but they store the information that its turned over. Early ones just go to 999,999 and stay there I've been told.
