Narrowing Down My Prob. Blown fuse 14 & Code 20..

Sorry, to be posting so much, but i'm finally getting up the energy to get my CRX working after 6 months of not caring.... anyway.. I'm curious as if anyone has had a problem with the ELD? When I start my car, it blows the #14 fuse. That fuse is the alternator, ELD, and fuel pump fuse. If I put a larger fuse it to get it to start and run, it shoots me code 20 which is Electric Load code.. which i'm guessing has to do with the Electric Load Detector(or device, what ever the D in ELD stands for). I am assuming that since i'm getting that code, the problem isn't in the alternator or fuel pump.. but I have no idea.. does anyone have an expirience with this?

89 crx dx with a zc engine, ran strong for like 2 years, then I hit a hard bump in the city, and the car died, and has been like this for the last year..

Have you checked the wiring that may have been modified or re-routed during the enigine swap?
It sound like a wire may have shorted(been pinched) or gone to "ground".

:( im sorry that bad stuff is happening, but i wouldnt go and put a larger fuse in the fuse holder because the fuse is there for a reason and a bigger fuse can burn up wiring. and that is bad. the first thing i would do is do what us auto elect. techs do is a method called K.I.S.S. (keep it simple stupid). i would go and look for a short to ground or a spliced wire. good luck though

What amp is the fuse that it's blowing? and what amp is the fuse you're putting back in?
Sounds to me like, yes you have a lose wire in there that's either grounding on the body or another wire, but since it's blowing the fuse, it's mostly liking rubbing another wire.
Wish I could help more, but I can't come all the way up there and crawl through your wiring harness in person.

Also, another suggetion...
If you have an aftermarket radio/cd player.... check the wires behind it, cause those can cause a lot of the same problems as any other wires related to the engine can.

sounds like a short to me! or a wire touching something that its not supposed to! like metal or another wire..also if you have an aftermarket radio like Killa_CRX said, they can cause alot of problems if all the wires arent sealed up good!

my car was acting fugged up also!!!i would drive somewhere and then shut the car off, and then the car would not start back up..i thought it was a fuse!!! but i kept looking around and it was the Wire to the Starter was coming loose!ever time i hit a bump it would come loose!!! lol

Well, A guy looking at the car put some 'heat' fuse or something on that fuse.. it wasn't actually a larger fuse, but it allowed it to run for a minute without blowing it.. I haven't actually tried to drive it or get it running with a bigger fuse... (i did a long time ago and it just blew them up to like 30 amps, and it's a 10amp fuse..) One of the guys I work with is going to work on it some time next week and he said that he'll definitly be able to find it.. so hopefully he can help me out.. I'll keep you guys posted, and if anyone thinks of anything else, don't hesitate to post it up..
