rear rotors?

are both the rear rotors a drum style rotor??

what car are you talking about? up til 3rd, most rear rotors were drum.. on the 3rd you could get disc... i believe 4th+ is all disc.

correct me if im wrong.. i may be only talking about the V8 models..

This is a confusing question. The rear brakes have either drums OR rotors. Drums are used with the old brake shoes and rotors are used with disk brakes.
Starting in 1969 you could special order your Camaro with rear disk brakes and some "special edition" F Bodies came with them as well.

er. yeah.. lol mybad ;P i just figured he meant rear brakes.

98 and up F-body's are all equipped with disc/drum combination rears. The drum on the rears uses the inside of the rotors, and is only engaged via the parking brake.

my car is a 98 rs with a v6:uhoh: i ordered rotors and when i went to put them on i ran into a problem with the rear. the ones they sent me are both disk. the problem is one of them in a deep disk for the e break and the other is a shallow disk. i took one side off and but couldnt get the other one off. now before i go and start banging the hell out of it to get it off because i asume its rusted on i just wanted to make sure that the shallow one will fit. im thinking it wont cause when the e break is on neither one of the back rotors will move. so im asuming that they are the same rotors are both the same so i think i have one right and one wrong rotor. is this right??

um.. to clarify, you mean you got two different types of rotors for the rear, and you want to be sure if thats how its supposed to be, right?

btw, the rotors should come off pretty easily..you sure your ebrake is not pulled up? (unless it IS rusted.. then you might have some brake-fluid-spilling problems.. or a lot of snow.salt on it?)
