Door lock problems

I have a 1999 passat the driver side door lock will not lock with the remote (but will with the key) but you can hear the the lock trying to lock the door.
all other locks work fine. it also unlock with the remote.

Looks like its time for a new door latch assembly, about 350.00 at the dealer for the part.

i've got a situation too. i cant open my door from the outside, only from the inside. plus a cable got caught in my fan under the hood and now my ABS and tcs lights r on, and my brake light is flashing. and i just got 3 flats all caused by nails let lyin around at work.
