Advice on My New XR650L

I'm a measley 5'8", my rx650l requires a ladder for me to mount. One question. Would an RX650R seat fit the 650L? Even if I can make it hook somehow. I want to find another seat to chop out some of the foam, but don't want to cut into the original seat. Mechanics at Honda said the bike is as soft as she will go. Too many folks say the lowering link doesn't lower that much. Chopping seat can take off a couple inches I heard.
