Can I add 4 wheel drive

I've got a 2001 Chevy 2500HD with the 8.1L engine. It's a 2WD and I was wandering if it was possible for me to make it a 4X4.

All you would need is a different frame, different electrical system, altered body, a different transmission, a transfer case, a different exhaust, different driveshafts, different brakes, different front suspension, and probably a few other things I'm overlooking.

Yes, I suppose it could be done, but you'd really have to want to do it, and spend a few hundred man-hours in the process. I'm betting it would be easier to make it a 4 x 6 with a full screw and custom rear frame and box, or go all out for the half-track look.
