1999 grand am multi code problem

my 99 grand am pulls a maf code and a egr code and i think the problems are related and dont want to drop a 200 dollar maf sensor in and find out its wrong.i as woundering if any one has run into this problem or has an idea as to what it might be.the car searches for idle in park and i field tested the maf sensor by tapping it with a srew driver which is not an exact science.any help?

or do you know if a iac ir air leak could trigger maf and egr codes
