Headlight bulb

hey eveyone....just purchased a 1996 jimmy slt yesterday, and was wondering what is the bulb # for the headlights ...i want something brighter and suggestions....thanks

welcome to af. the bulb # for the low beam is 9006 and the high beam is 9005. If you want to upgrade the bulbs, the best ones to get are Toshiba HIR's. They are the brightest non-HID bulbs. We discused lighting upgrades a while back in this thread (http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=630676).

the only place i've seen HIR's is on ebay and each bulb (not a pair) is $24.
